Today I turn 45. I’ve moved up into a new age group. Yeah, if that’s the first thing you think of on your birthday, you might be a runner.

44 was a difficult year. My DNF in New York City still sucks. I had hernia surgery. But I got through it, I’m still running, and I’m going to finish New York City this year. I don’t know that I’m any better physically as a runner now than I was a year ago, but I’d like to think I’m better mentally after going through all that.

Here’s hoping that 45 will be a great year.
